CRTC Delays Metered Internet Usage

The CRTC has delayed a ruling dictating whether or not Internet Service Providers will be able to implement metered bandwidth usage in which the customers of Internet Service Providers would be charged based upon bandwidth usage.

Prime Minister Steven Harper and Federal Industry Minister, Tony Clement both condemned the potential CRTC decision earlier this week on Twitter.
Over 403 122 people have signed an online petition at http://stopthemeter.ca/ against the upcoming CRTC ruling.

The chair of the CRTC, Konrad von Finckenstein, appeared before the House of Commons industry committee on Feb. 3, announcing that the CRTC will delay a decision on the matter until March 1.
