Today In SEO & Search News: February 13, 2017

Well – it’s Monday and that means it’s time to catch up on what’s happened over the weekend and ready ourselves fo a busy week ahead. So let’s jump right in. Here’s what’s you may have missed …

Google Maps New Save Function
Amy Gesenhues over on Search Engine Land reported on an announcewment by the Google Maps team of a new features that allows users to save lists in Google Maps and share those lists (for use both online and offline).  In the example Google uses, “Whenever friends and family come to town, tap the share button to get a link and start flexing your local knowledge muscles. Once you send a link to your out-of-towners, they can tap “Follow” to pull up the list from Your Places whenever they need it.”

People Also Ask Goes Dynamic
We’re all familiar with the “people also ask” feature in Google however now it’s dynamically loaded. A picture is worth a thousand words and an animated GIF even more so here’s the Tweet:

Uncover Hidden Keyword-Level Data Using Google Sheets

Organic keyword data mapped to conversions
Sarah Lively from Nebo Agency published an interesting piece on the Moz blog earlier today on how to use Google Sheets to connect your keywords with your conversions from organic once again.  It’s an interesting read and well worth the time. Not what we lost but not a bad replacement.

Google Analytics UI Rollout
Like Barry Schwartz over at Search Engine Roundtable I too got the new interface for analytics last week but it seems it’s making it’s way into the full ecosystem.  If you don’t have the new interface yet … it won’t be long and personally I like it (once I got used to it).

And that’s it for the weekend’s news but buckle up … I have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to be a busy week.
