All the tests !!!

Radical redesign of your website:

All the tests !!!Rule #1 – Test your redesigns!

When you are testing a redesign you reset the radicals of your A/B testing

6 month testing cycle – research and strategy > radical redesign testing > test analytics > iterative testing > test cycle review

Rule #2 –  – Once something becomes a design best practice it stops being the best practice. The user starts to see it too much and it blends and the user blocks it out.

Key pages of your site need to be redesigned or tested for it every 6 months.

Test multiple hypothesis with your design – How can you make the site interact with the user? Who is the audience? Design in multiple hypothesis to see what works.

Design testing – your mobile and desktop site doesn’t always work the same, you may need a different version for mobile rather than the simple mobile version of the desktop responsive design. A custom mobile design can increase your business, the mobile users are often completely different users than the desktop users

Rule #3 – “Use your tools, break the rules” – If you don’t challenge your assumptions you may be acting on information that is no longer true.

You must run your test at least 2 weeks to get a true picture of the outcome of the designs you are testing.

After the overall radical redesign testing you need to then move forward to testing the finer elements of the winning design and fine tune all the details.

And then do it all again in 6 months!
