Search Friendly Twitter Pages Generates Huge SEO Payoff
At the Twitter Analyst Day event held November 12, it was revealed that SEO has generated a 10 fold increase in web traffic from logged out visitors. Largely the increases are coming from search engine access to over 50,000 popular hashtag pages.
Google Double Click for Publishers Goes Down
Googles ad servicing platform “Double Click” crashed Wednesday. While the service was u p and running in a few short hours; Business Insider has estimated the loss of revenue to publishers at $1 billion dollars per hour, globally.
Mozilla Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
This week Mozilla celebrated its ten year anniversary with a bevy of new features designed to increase privacy concerns.
We continue to hear from our users that they have concerns about how to better control their information online. In October 2014 Harris Poll conducted an online global survey of more than 7,000 adults on behalf of Mozilla. It revealed that 3/4 of respondents (74%) felt that internet companies knew too much about them and more than half (54%) had done something online they wanted to “forget”
One of the more interesting features is the “Forget” button where you can easily remove your search history from anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours.
Facebook Places Discovery Tool
Although it has since been noted by Facebook that this feature has been available since July , Search Engine Lands, Greg Sterling wrote a great piece about it. It seems Facebook has jumped further into the realm of local site search with its new places directory. The revised Places, combines Page locations API and Graph Search, and may possibly give sites like Yelp and Tripadvisor a run for their money.
