Now THAT’s A Good Idea

In my daily perusal of SearchEngineWatch.com (if you haven’t been there before I highly recommend it) I was informed of a new form of advertising that it absolutely brilliant. We’ve all heard of pay-per-click advertising but how about pay-per-call?

Essentially, rather than having a URL display they will ahve a randomly generated 800 number in their PPC ads (or at least some of them). If the number is called it will route the caller through to the sites actual phone number and bill them a fee for the advertising.

This is a fantastic advancement that should hold great appeal to complex industries that need to understand the client’s personal needs more than those that can easily be defined on a website.

AOL, it appears has followed suit.
